Peach blossom festival kicks off in Lang Son (12/02/18)
The first-ever peach blossom festival will run from February 10 to March 15 at Chi Lang Commune in Lang Son City, northern Lang Son Province.

With a theme of “Lang Son Peach Blossoms – Beauty of Quintessence Convergence”, the festival aims to promote Lang Son as the land of peach blossoms, turning them into a symbol of the province and becoming a key promotional tool for local tourism.

The highlight of the event is the display of over 340 beautiful peach trees in full bloom. An exhibition will provide basic information on the different types of peach trees found in Lang Son and how to plant and care for them, while another will feature Tet pictures, paintings, calligraphy, typical local musical instruments, embroidery, and other items.

Artistic performances will include Then singing, lion dances, and folk games.

On the occasion, the organizing board awarded the most beautiful peach blossom prize, and announced the decisions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the recognition of national intangible cultural heritages in Lang Son province, including the lion dance of the Tay and Nung of Lang Son; Tro Ngo festival, Giang village festival in Yen Thinh Commune, Huu Lung District; Phai Lua Festival in Hong Phong Commune, Binh Gia District.
