VIETNAM CHARMING FLOWER SEASON

When the winter comes, it has become very cold and the soft rays of light began to dawn on the Northwest sky. The charming flower season starts! Moc Chau ( Son La province), Dien Bien with the white of plump, the pink of cherry blossom is attracting both tourists and locals in late-autumn. The white blossom is a true trademark of the area and makes it a paradise for photographers.

 

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN HA NOI

Arrive in Ha Noi by flight. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Ha Noi.

DAY 2: HA NOI – KY SON

Transfer to Ky Son. Welcome drink with local fresh green tea. Free time to discover the home stay, local market, kindergarten at Ky Son village and participate in cooking class. After lunch, enjoy hand spa and massage with traditional herbal and natural ingredients.

Free time for relaxing or spending time with your host family, sharing cultures, and learning about traditional customs. Later in the afternoon, you can have choices of a short ride of 6 km or a long ride of 12 km roundtrip to explore the surroundings.

After the ride, while waiting for the traditional and refreshing steam bath to be prepared with fragrant herbs including lemon grass, pomelo leaves, holy basil leaves,… you can enjoy our local dessert and taste some of the local products such as maize, sweet potato, cassava, peanuts… (depending on season). Overnight at homestay in Ky Son.

DAY 3: KY SON – NGHIA LO

Start a new day by joining Yijinjing exercises, walking around Ky Son village for further discovery of countryside, interacting with the locals to learn about their daily life and farming. Visit the villager's bee house or healer family that making herbal medicinal. 

Depart for Nghia Lo. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and overnight in Nghia Lo.

DAY 4: NGHIA LO – TU LE - MU CANG CHAI

After breakfast, transfer from Nghia Lo to Tu Le. The road drive takes only 2 hours so you will have a lot of time exploring the mountainous life of the local ethnic minority people in the area. Take a soft trek along a trail which connect villages, meeting different tribal people such as White Thai, Black Zao, Red H’mong… You might have a chance that these friendly locals will invite you to their homes for tea or homemade wine.

Continue to Mu Cang Chai, Overnight in Mu Cang Chai

DAY 5: MU CANG CHAI - THAN UYEN - SAPA 

After breakfast we transfer from Mu Cang Chai to Sapa via Than Uyen. Arrive in Sapa visit Ham Rong Mountain where you can climb up the “Cloud Yard” to enjoy the panorama breathtaking view over Sapa Town. The path leading up to Ham Rong Mountain consists of many stone steps and a winding trail higher up will help to see small streams lazily run through bushy foliage. About mid­way, you will find yourself in an orchid -garden with more than 400 species of colorful blooms.

Transfer and install in hotel at Sapa.

DAY 6:   SA PA – LAO CHAI – TA VAN

Depart from Sapa and start 16 km trekking day, visit Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai and Ta Van village of the Dzay minority. After lunch at a local family in Ta Van, we keep on hiking around village of the Dzay & H’mong.

Overnight in homestay in Ta Van village.

DAY 7:  TA VAN – GIANG TA CHAI – SU PAN – SAPA

After breakfast, start trekking through bamboo forests towards Giang Ta Chai village which inhabited by the Red Zao minorities. Here we will experience their daily life and then cross over the Muong Hoa River up to the mountain to visit Supan village of the H'mong people. Return and overnight in Sapa.

DAY 8: SAPA – PASO – MUONG LAY

After breakfast, depart for Muong Lay. On the way, stop at Silver waterfall and then pass by the Heaven gate before heading into the hilly road along the beautiful mountain down to the Binh Lu valley where you can see many different minority people, such as: Laos, Lu, Thai, Dao Tien, Red H’mong, Black Dao… Continue to follow the way along Da river with beautiful mountain scenery and some special village of Red H’mong, Black Thai and Mang people. Arrive at Muong Lay town in the afternoon and overnight in Muong Lay.

DAY 9: MUONG LAY – DIEN BIEN PHU

After breakfast, head the road to Dien Bien Phu and enjoy a peaceful drive. Arrive in Dien Bien Phu town, visit many famous historical sites: Dien Bien Phu museum, A1 Hill, Victory monument, Bunker of Colonel De Castries, visit Ba Khoang lake to visit the cherry blossom festival where you can explore an exhibition of local distinctive culture, community activities and folk games of mountain tribes, agricultural market of the ethnic locals and a space for displaying traditional cuisine of the northwestern region. Overnight in Dien Bien Phu.

DAY 10: DIEN BIEN PHU – SON LA

After breakfast, start the journey to conquer one of the four most amazing pass in Vietnam and Pha Din pass is the longest pass among them. In the local language, the pass means “Heaven and Earth” and accompanied by local legend, Pha Din Pass is the place where the sky meets the earth, so it is considered as the frontier between “Heaven and Earth.”

Continue until arrival in Son La, visit the French prison build during the war time. Overnight in Son La

DAY 11: SON LA – MOC CHAU

Depart to Mai Chau. Upon arrival, installation at homestay and spend some time relax or participate in preparing special dishes for lunch with local people. In the afternoon, visit the heart shape tea hill, Dai Yem waterfall.

Enjoy dinner and overnight in stilt housein Moc Chau.

DAY 12: MOC CHAU – NA KHA VALLEY – BA PHACH VILLAGE

Depart to Na Kha valley, located 20km away from Moc Chau town, to enjoy the plump flower season covered in white color as clouds. Every spring, especially in January and February, the whole 100 hectares of plum trees in Na Ka valley, turn into a paradise of blooming plum flowers .

Continue to Ba Phach Villagethe most iconic tribal village in Moc Chau plateau - also well-known for spectacular sights of plump and peach flowers blooming in spring time. The village is home to two ethnic groups residing here – Thai and and H'mong people with their richness of cultural customs and traditions. Overnight in Moc Chau.

DAY 12: MOC CHAU – MAI HICH

After breakfast, transfer to Mai Hich.

Arrive at Mai Hich, you will be welcomed by local friendly host who dressed in traditional costume. Enjoy a memorable lunch that is cooked with special and typical local foods at homestay.

In the afternoon: Cycling or walking to visit the countryside including vegetable gardens, fish ponds, stilt houses, terraces…  Visit some brocade weaving factories, you can also buy handmade Thai traditional scarves here or enjoy Thai traditional folk music as well as dance performances by Thai young people. It will be a good chance for you to try bamboo dance with friendly farmers and to drink Cần pipe-wine, a traditional alcoholic beverage of ethnic minority groups in Vietnam is made from the fermentation of rice starch and various forest fruits in pottery jars. Staying overnight at stilt house.

DAY 13: MAI HICH – HA NOI

After breakfast, walk through cornfields and rice fields where you can observe or even take part in daily cultivation activities of local people so as to discover the simple beauty of Thai culture. Continue with an exiciting activity to travel along the Xia stream by bamboo ferry. Leave Mai Hich village and visit a small factory where disabled artisans produce manual embroidery and weave products in Ban Lac. Transfer to Hanoi.

DAY 14: DEPARTURE 

Free for personal exploration until time to transfer to airport for departure flight.
