Overview

Visit beautiful Laos, one of the prettiest countries in Southeast Asia. Laos provides a pleasant change of pace for travelers who are used to Thailand or Vietnam. Laos is known for its forest and its waterfalls and you can also try the delicious local food which has Thai and Indian influences. If you are looking for a real adventure in Southeast Asia then Laos makes it possible and still feels as if you are going off the beaten track, even in the main cities like Vientiane or Luang Prabang.

  • Explore Vientiane, Laos’ biggest city. Beautiful French-influenced architecture, Buddhist temples galore and fabulous natural beauty make Vientiane a must-see stop on any tour of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
  • Visit Phonsavan, the pretty capital city of the Xieng Khouang Province in the center of Laos, often looked on as a way to get to the Plain of Jars which is a natural stone structure that is said to look like jars.
  • Discover Luang Prabang, the ancient royal capital of Laos. It’s a mesmerising city filled with over 33 temples, vibrant nightlife, stunning nature, and so much more, which is why it’s the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Itinerary

Welcome by our local tour guide upon your arrival at the airport and then transfer down town to embark on a full day city tour, include: Wat Ho Phra Keo - the original home of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Sisaket houses thousand Buddha images, Anousavari or Vientiane’s Arc de Triomphe and Pha That Luang Stupa where kept the relics of Lord Buddha. 

Transfer to the hotel and overnight at hotel. 

After breakfast, early visit to the morning market, Revolutionary Museum. Then transfer to airport for domestic flight to Xiengkhouang. 

On arrival, transfer to the hotel at Phonsavan, free at leisure and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, early start to visit The Plain of Jars well known as one of Asia’s most unusual sights: hundreds of stone jars some weighing up to a tone scattered over a large area of countryside. The jars are thought to be over 2,000 years old but their origins are still a mystery. Continue to the ancient capital Muang Khoun with a stop to visit minority village along the way. Overnight in Phonsavan.

After breakfast, explore the local market before scenic drive to Luang Prabang along mountainous roads plenty of picture opportunities along the way. In the evening arrive in Luang Prabang for overnight.

After breakfast, start the day by visiting Wat Xienthong the city’s most beautiful temple built in the 16th century. Continue to visit Wat Visoun, the Melon Stupa, then Wat Aham and drive for 30 Km to south along the Mekong river to the Kuang Si waterfalls where you can take a refreshing swim in the clear waters. In the evening back to town for overnight stay.

Visit the Royal Palace in the morning then embark on slow boat trip to Pak Ou caves which are located 32km up river and along the way stop to visit the whisky village and discover the process used by villagers to distill Lau Lao (rice whisky) then continue on board to the cave. After visiting the caves cruise slowly back to Luang Prabang and pass on the way Ban Xangkhong - the weaving village & mulberry paper village. 

On arrival at Luang Prabang, climb up the sacred Mount Phousi 328 steps high located in the heart of the town, catch the sunset then back down to the central night market for diverse shopping (silk weaving, carvings, cottons, silver etc.). Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Early start (around 5:30 am) by car to Ban Vat Sean to watch a long line of monks collecting alms’s ceremony. Back to the hotel for breakfast then check out. Visit fresh market before transferring to airport for departure flight to next destination.
